I always find myself admiring the handwriting of 19th century authors (or people in general). And I've actually seen that house, although not on purpose. Hooray for those blue plaques.

Jennifer @ Jen's Book Den Says:

I think this is such a great idea for all of us to learn more about the classic authors! I have... I am reading Persuasion. Come learn something about Ms. Austen!

JaneGS Says:

I'm reading George Eliot this month too! I loved seeing her house and handwriting. She's such an interesting person and I love her narrative voice--so wise, maternal, and compassionate, which I think I can see in her face.

JaneGS Says:

I forgot to add a link to my post on Silas Marner.

I'm adoring Middlemarch so far. George Eliot is awesome. Her handwriting looks so neat and orderly...

Shelley Says:

George Eliot is my favorite author (I named my nook Eliot after her) but I only know a few things about her life. I love seeing her handwriting!

Judaye Says:

I have read Silas Marner a few times and am in the middle of The Mill on the Floss. It's luxurious to read George Eliot slowly.

Several months ago we had a cloth maker with a loom at our local library. She told me how important the weaver was to a community because most people did not own looms. So Silas must have been really good at weaving.

Karen Says:

I have never read any George Elliot. Something I plan on rectifying soon.
