Every so often I'll be posting a small collection of paintings that have a similar mood or a theme. Followed by a second post with some information or history about the painting or artist.

I hope you enjoy them, please share you thoughts~

Bubbles, John Everett Millais
Fresh Eggs, Winslow Homer
The Pained Heart, Arthur Hughes

I absolutely love the Winslow Homer picture--makes me want to write a story about the girl gathering eggs.

I had a copy of "Breezing Up" in my bedroom when I was a kid (http://www.nga.gov/press/exh/233/index.htm), and have always found his paintings comforting.

@JaneGS How lovely! I love that painting. And I'd love to read the story the painting inspires, if you decide to write it! :)
